  1. I only listened to tidbits of the podcast, but the overall link between Reich and anarchism is an interesting one. I've been doing work on Reich through the lens of vitalism, which naturally tends towards the metaphysical, but he had other influences. The whole sex-pol period in the 1920s in Vienna where he helped sex workers, the poor, street people and teenagers with birth control and psychiatric advice was well ahead of its time and definitely in line with anarchism...

    Good stuff.

  2. There's definately an irony in the purpose of pornography. In a free society, or viewed by someone who is in touch with and free with their sexuality, porn serves as a complement to it. However, in a deeply puritanical and sexually repressed society, porn serves as a tool in pumping up the fascist impulse, as violence, sadism, and authoritarian control are a sublimation of the sexual energy. Porn one might say,or more to the point, sexual stimulation, is the fuel of fascist aggression. Hence the term "wargasm."
    Great stuff!

  4. thenecromancer-- thank you for your kind words! Reich was such a multifaceted and interesting guy. His system of psychology went where no one wanted to go at the time, not to mention being a harsh, incisive critic of the Third Reich all the way back in 1933. Take it easy!
